So, long story short, you would just set your Hygrometer so that it reads 75% in the salt water bag and it will be reading the correct percentage. Is that correct?

HI,
Only have a minute.caught up on the thread.
Wolftracks.since retirement I have become a super shopper...........
Watch sales for myself and also adult chicldren.
Yesterday our local store had Cambells chicken noodle or tomatoe soup as a leader for .39 a can.
I loaded up 24 cans.was going through the check stand and the checker gently told me it was a limit of 6.......
We completed the order and I told her I would return the other 18 cans to where I got them.
She said NO,NO just wait.then she rang the remainder up 6 at a time.
I left feeling like I had won the LOttery

Going to check the bater.it hit 110 yesterday grrrrrrrrrrrr
Can hardly believe it is set day already....

I have gone crazy!

I saved too many eggs. Ok so here is my insanity. I am going to cram as many as I can in my Brinsea then I have to wait 4 days to set quail eggs anyway, so I will candle then and hopefully be able to sort out a few. Then if I still have extras I will give them to my constantly broodie silkie. This will work I am sure. I Surely out of all these eggs I will have a few chicks. I just put 21 in bator right now and I am waiting on the mail to get here with 12 more eggs, I will let them settle for about 6 hours and then I will put them in tonight.

Or you can go totally crazy like me and not put a hydrometer in for the first 18 days. I am trying a new method this time. I am just filling one water channel and refilling it as needed and not going to worry at all about hydrometer readings. Then on lockdown I will stick one in and fill my 2 water channels and stick a sponge in just in case I need it. I will take readings for the last 3 days and that is it. I am going to measure aircells this time and go by that instead of my always off not matter what I do hydrometers.

I am using mostly my eggs this hatch, so I am really doing the "no hydrometer" experiment to see if it works. If it does I will feel more comfortable doing it with more pricey shipped eggs. I will keep you all posted as to how it goes.

I use the no hygormeter method and I had a 100% hatch for the NYD hatch. It works as long as you remember to fill them.
