I set at 1:00. Bator #2 is holding temps at 101 and the hydrometer is at 35. This is the one that showed 71 with the sale and bag. If mine can be reset I have yet to figure it out. I'd love to be able to just set it and know Iwas looking at the right numbers.
Anyway 22 eggies are set. I haven't added water. My humidity levels are still up. but now I'm worried they my go up too high in which case I would have to bring them down. If there's no water and high humidity, what do you do????
I lost some birds last night. The door was open, but they didn't go into the coop. Two were under the ramp and one was on top of the feeder. Nothing got into the coop or run, I think they were just too cold. I lost both of my barred EEs and a bantam Wellie. Everyone else is fine, but I don't know why they didn't go it. I've left the door open before when I got home too late and was too Chicken to go out there and they made it fine. Any other time I would have gone out and they'd all be inside, but they didn't do it last night. I feel horrible that I just didn't run out and do it. Things have been so bad in my neighborhood lately I've been just too paranoid at times and I know a car was being stripped 2 doors over. I didn't want them busted and think I had called on them, so I stayed in the house. Now I feel just aweful about the birds.
I got a bad call from Bill's sister today too. Neither of us had called eachother lately and she asked how I was and I told her how much I missed Bill and we talked about him. Then she told me her husband committed suicide in Dec. Then their SIL called and Bill's oldest brother has stage 4 lung cancer and they gave him 3-6 months. It just keeps going on and on. On a good note I got a voice mail from my SIL and my daughter's surgery went good, but instead of an over night stay they may keep her for at least 2 nights.
Ya know when I bartended and things went like this I wrote a story called "As The Barstool Turns"...........I need a new title for my life now. Maybe "Gone to the Birds???"
