GoneHomeGrown, I hope you feel better! My daughter has missed three days in the past week for anonymous bugs
I hate seeing people feeling miserable. But your chicks are gorgeous, and I love the fluffy feet!
I had a second one hatch yesterday, waiting to see if any others do.. three more eggs still in that I have hopes for. One's actually peeping, but no pips! I'll get a chick picture up as soon as I can figure it out! My dear, understanding husband gave me a camera that he'd set up with a wireless card... so when I took pictures, it uploaded them straight to my laptop while I was still shooting. Well, that laptop's dead and on its way back to Dell, and I have no clue how to upload pictures..
And my first hatched little brat yelled ALL day yesterday. He yelled nonstop in the incubator for a few hours, so I finally took him out and had him in the chair with me and the heating pad. He kept yelling. So, into the baby bin with a stuffed animal, the heating pad, and the runt chick from the NYD hatch. The other chick got cozy and slept, the new one just kept on with the yap yap yap.. I finally put him back in the incubator. He didn't shut up until the next one hatched to keep him company, like he knew the other one I'd set him in with wasn't his hatch-mate.
In other news, I had another green egg today! It was IN the coop, and IN the nest box when I let everybody out. What the heck? They can't just change egg color on me, can they? I don't have any pullets I'm waiting on... The youngest two big birds started laying in November. Can it be something they ate?
I think I'm gonna candle today. They're on days 8 and 6 if I'm counting right.. but I reeeeally want to see if there's anything going on in there.
And oh my! Poor Betsy! Somebody needs to knit that poor girl a sweater. I must be missing something, I can't tell if mine are molting.. seems like they should be this time of year. Maybe I spend too much time looking at them and just don't see it. There are feathers laying all over the place, but nobody looks naked.
