Chipping away at rights...

I think it is none of the governments business. Last I heard business owners paid taxes, insurance and upkeep on thier property. Therefore it is private property not public. The land owner should decide if he/she wants smoking in the business place. Its a privledge not a right to be in a place that you pay for services in. And government has other issues to contend with ... like the economy. They don't ned to micro-manage every little peice of everyones lives. Just my opinion of course.

Raise your hand if you are addicted to soda!

I believe that business owners should have the right to decide if they want smoking on their property or not. I also believe that smokers and non-smokers alike should have the right to decide ifin they want to spend their money in these businesses. In other words, let the market decide. What a concept!!!!!!!!

I am with you on being irritated that they are taking away our rights. It is no business of the government if a business allows smoking or not! I don't smoke! Can't stand it and think it is the second nastiest thing to do for fun...the first being dipping...and I'm about as redneck as they come!

We all have choices about where we work and where we live. I would not work in a smoking environment...tough for me if all the local jobs have smoking bosses...I move or get over it! A business would be better off attracting my business if it were smoke free. I have several friends that would patronize the smoking establishment. It works out in the free enterprise system! Now federal buildings and schools and such...smoke free is fine...we are trying to protect the health of all and make it where all can have free access. Not an issue for a smoker to not smoke while in there...issue for a severe asthmatic do enter with a smoker...what is best no smoking...but private business...get rid of the government!

i don't mind some no smoking rules but not allowing private enterprise to choose smoking or non smoking enviornments or accomodate smokers is wrong. madating one or the other by law is wrong. as a business owner i should be able to make a choice between allowing smokers and losing non smoker business or visa versa. it's my business and you have no rights to tell me how to operate it. you do have the right not to participate. in publicly owned environments i agree with the non smoking choice. the problem starts to rear it's ugly head when smoking bans can go no further and those 'activists' start eyeballing my BBQ grill.
