Chocolate Serama Breeders - dun and blue can be included here as well

Pics
Here's some of my babies. I forgot that I am getting eggs from silkie/serama cross as well. Pay no attention to the giant grey brute up front, he is an EE. The others are my seramas cross. That grey pink is in the back left corner.

Now he's far left.

Any clues as to the color of that one? The silkies I use have a very different shade of beige than all the others, so I know there's a different dilute going on there from the d'uccles.

I think I've seen some like these, I think they were lemon blue. What is the reason you're crossing them?

I am working on some of the harder to find colors in my Seramas as well. I am hunting eggs to swap to try and introduce some more colors. I was also thinking of crossing a couple of my hens under a Duccle for the color too. I love what your getting! great colors! So far I have added a dun and a red color that I think is a chocolate redish. I will cross him on my black hen and see what I get. My hens are laying right now so If any one wants to swap some eggs I would be all for it. I have pics I can share.
Hi, I've got some d'uccle/serama cross, and also silkie/serama cross eggs. Some of them have just started hatching this week and i'm expecting some nice combinations from them. I would be interested in swapping eggs with you regarding your dun and reddish chocolate colors. I'm trying to get browns into my stock.
Can you show pictures of your birds? These are my breeders.

The new colors are not laying yet. They are about four months old. The little reddish brown cockrel is crowing and the the little dun girl likely wont lay for another couple months. Its my adults that Im getting eggs from. These are the adults below. I have two black copper hens, one solid black and one white penciled hen all covered by the cream and copper roo (sorry about his tail feathers, and the little white hen, they got pulled out when my young niece was helping me move them to another pen, they are about halfway grown back). I will take pics of the reddish brown ones today. If i understand correctly, I will need to cross them on the solid black hen to produce the brown colors? I am a horse genetics person so help me out on the chicken colors, Im still making the adjustment to the chicken genetics.

I'm a horse person too, always following the genetics. In chickens, I have a lot to learn. Never had to deal with sex-linked anything before. In browns, I guess there are many ways to achieve them. You don't need chocolate or dun to get them, I think there are melanizers involved? Still not clear on that. I don't require the chocolate gene, but I'd like the dun and the melanizer. Since I have a bejillions of eggs in the 'bator right now, I won't need yours, but I could send you some for shipping. Do you want them to go express, to keep them out of the cold as much as possible. Or better yet, registerd mail will keep them locked up, in safes and the truck drivers cab instead of the back of the truck and left on the dock. It will take me a couple of days to collect more eggs, as I just stuck the last weeks worth in my incubator.
I'm ordering some fawn silver duckwing OEG from Ideal to make sure I get both the dun and silver. Crossed on my blues, I should be getting platinums, that can then be bred back to the standards to bring type back. It will take a while, about a year.

You are several months ahead of me on the same project except Im working into Seramas instead of Duccles. Im trying to get the blue, lemon, dun, chocolate and Pumpkin into my Serama lines. I only have three hens that are not black. I have the little dun girl, one buff girl, and a while penciled girl. I would love some eggs from that beautiful roo you have pictured. The silvery bluish pumpkin guy. That would be a great place to start. If you PM me your Paypal I will send you shipping money. I would love to pay it back in a few months with some eggs from my little dun hen when she starts laying. Do you have a preference under which roo? I have the cool reddish chocolate looking guy and a buff and two that look like the fellow in the photo.
