I got an incubator for Mother’s Day and hatched a batch. I can’t believe how nasty the incubator was. I put a damp paper towel under the eggs to keep the grate and bottom from getting so bad and it worked pretty good. However the whole clear top/motor was awful from the fuzz of the babies. Had to take the thing apart to clean it. I did love watching them hatch though.

Incubators need to be fully fumigated after each hatch, all the left over crud from hatching can be deadly to eggs and chicks.

Yes, I used a toothbrush on it and bleached everything and when I put it all back together I turned it on to let it run for a while to dry it good. That was a job.
 
My 3 oldest we getting to excited in incubator. I put them in a heated brood box. They got water sips. Dani.
