yesssss...lol... or even take some of the pics we have posted or have a new contest of "seasonal" pics....

I'm gonna get ready after Thanksgiving. Why get ready now and be inpatient the rest of the 60 days?

Although I always get a start on what I want for Christmas.

I started working on a digital photo calendar yesterday. I'll get them printed at Artscow and give them to mom and sisters for Christmas.

JC Penney is having a $100-off sale on KitchenAid stand mixers this week if you need one for your holiday baking.

Now is the time to stock up on butter and other baking supplies, and find those glass candy thermometers.

I am such a sucker for Christmas!!!!

I love love love love love to decorate for Christmas (and hubby loves it when I at least wait until Thanksgiving to do so

)

I am a Nativity addict - I just bought another one today (I have 10 so far - would have more, but hubby goes shopping with me sometimes, and he stops me...

) This one looks like ti is carved out of wood and it has nativity related bible verses on it. It isn't anything expensive, but it's cute/pretty.

I, too, have started listening (sometimes, not non-stop) to some good Christmas music (I like Transiberian Orchestra, personally) I also like Jars of Clay's version of Gabriel's Message. (I had a copy of Sting doing it, but lost it somehow).

Last year I did the whole house/tree in red and gold - not sure what the theme is gonna be this year, but it looks to be shaping up to be a rustic theme for a change.

Most of my tree ornaments are eggs - glass, fabric, ribbon, wood, etc... many of them etched in pretty designs. I love to get the box out every fall and look over each one

My birthday is in December, so maybe that is why I love Christmas so much - it used to be tradition to go get the tree on my birthday (when we got live trees, I have a fake one, now) then I got to decorate it the next day.

I like Halloween, I also like Thanksgiving -- but Christmas

makes me all warm and homey feeling inside.

Luckily, I have an excuse to decorate earlier than usual this year, because my oldest son can come visit at Thanksgiving, but he can't come for Christmas this year - so I sort of get to do it twice

Really large family here. I've got the only kids under 20, so they get too much of everything. The gifts for adults family wide must be made not bought.

The kids are making faux faberge eggs for ornaments, out of coturnix eggs and hen eggs to give as gifts. (Anyone wants directions I can put them in the hobby section).

I'm putting together some treats like I do every year:
Basil oil
Rosemary oil
Mint extract
Vanillia
Candied ginger
Honeywine

Instead of wrapping paper, they're getting them in crocheted market bags (I can write out the pattern if anyone wants to try it)

I'm also replacing the tupperware container I lost in 4th grade for my mom, and picking out some others to put the ginger and cookies in.

Dad will get a batch of frozen, preportioned snickerdoodle cookies (his favorite), so he can bake 2 or 3 cookies at a time, i make a big batch, scoop into cookie sized balls, freeze on a cookie sheet, then pack into a cookie tin frozen. 18 minutes at 350 and it's a hot cookie.
