I will do my best to keep the countdown going.....Be sure to let your son know that this family here appreciates all that he has done to protect the freedoms of America.

I shop year round. Today I was at TSC and found some awesome deals in the clearance aisle. So there were some more gifts taken care of.

I keep asking my 2 boys about their Christmas wish lists and the oldest keeps saying he doesn't know, the youngest ( 6 ) told me that he wants every gun that's ever been made.

I've already gotten my Christmas present - and birthday and anniversary - it was the coop my DH built me this year.

But I'm getting ready for Christmas by shaking my homemade bottle of vanilla extract everyday that I'll be handing out as gifts along with preserves and other homemade goodies

71 Days left until Christmas....................................................

It will be here before you know it.

I'm addicted to paper crafts, so I always made handcrafted Christmas cards for all 60 people on my Christmas list. Plus greeting card gift sets for the kids' teachers. I have about half of my Christmas cards done...

We don't really buy gifts for a lot of people. Our families are soooooo huge that it's really impractical. We buy for our kids and our godchildren - that's it.

.....I know what you mean about buying for everyone, to me it makes no sense. When I was a kid my parents only bought for us kids and their parents.....when did it get so out of hand? Oh, well.....all my gifts are gonna be home-made, with an exception to a few items that I collected through-out the year

And thanks for the reminder.....I need Christmas cards.

Also.....I re-use Christmas cards, no not re-send them

, I cut the fronts off (if there is nothing written on that side) and the following year I use them for large name labels. They are just to cool. Try it!!!

I wish hubby would let me decorate something christmasy already. It would cheer me up (my cat died yesterday - she was almost 19 years old - had her since she was two months old).

I did bring out a few of the nativities and clean them in prep for decorating - I put some of the smaller ones in a glass enclosed cabinet so I guess they are are sort of on display.

We are forecast rain for the next four days (great, fits my mood) so maybe I can get things out and at least look at them, figure out which ornaments to use this year, clean a few things and figure out where to put the tree this year (I have a 45 gallon tank with button quail in the only place I can reasonably put the tree - I may need to move the tank to my bedroom temporarily).

Well, with all this rain I can get the house cleaned really super well, at least. I can clean the bathroom off our bedroom, also (get rid of cat stuff) so maybe when I go in there it won't depress me looking at her dishes.

So sorry about your cat! I know how you feel - lost my dogs. Kind of weird in the house for awhile without them

Holy Cow! You guys are killing me.

I am still trying to get a grip on the Halloween party my daughter wants to have.

I do have to say though................

After not celebrating Christmas for the first 26 years of my life, I DO go overboard. Secretly I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

Christmas DOES stress me out TOO!! Heck the ol' eczema is itching just talking about it. OK I am stressed. Gotta go vacuum it off.

But for the record.............

I'm in

WOO HOO!!! CHRISTMAS!!!
