another BYC member asked me that in the KY thread... (he actually asked if he could be considered my neighbor

I'll take pics, but it is super easy, doesn't even require turning on the stovetop.

I just melt the bark in the microwave, then stir in the orange extract, then dump the other stuff in and stir it well so it is all coated, then spread it out on a foil lined cookie sheet (and if they kid is in a hurry, I put it in the freezer

otherwise I let it harden at room temp.)

Almond Bark is a good friend to those of us who have a hard time with candy thermometers

Odd that I can use one making soap, but when I try to make fudge or something, I mess it up.

You know what's really good? Crushing up candy canes and mixing it with the white chocolate almond bark... YUM!

Yesterday i made my Christmas list, and pulled my recipes for cookies/goodies etc.

Nov 1 I start making dough.Dec 1 I start baking cookies.I usually make somewhere between 10-20 and then make little baskets or tims with tea/cocoa samples as gifts. They are a big hit with teachers.

Homemade this year I am doing a machine embroidered blanket for my fathers wife and a sweatshirt for my father.

The candy cane ones sound good too. I went to the store when I was in town for feed, and I got more orange extract, some peppermint extract and some raspberry extract (gonna try the raspberry in some chocolate, see how that tastes.) got more almond bark, more cranberries, more nuts... I think I am ready (with what I already had) to do the candy making this year.

and just to be "halloweeny" I grabbed a couple of fresh pomegranites - gonna make salad with dinner and throw some of those into it. I wonder if I can dehydrate the pomegranite seeds and put those into chocolate... hhhmmmmmm......

I normally (notice I put stress on normally) have all of my shopping done and the presents all wrapped and hidden by December 1. I'm lagging behind this year, sorta. I'm planning to make homemade gifts and trying not to do a lot of shopping.
