58 days till Christmas and 29 days until Thanksgiving............

Good thing I have a spare guest house

We put in a house trailer out back because we moved so far away - when people come to visit it isn't just overnight anymore

Mom and I always go Christmas Shopping when she comes down (NOT on Black Friday, though) and I will have the tree up before they get here and do the house up right

I have an excuse to decorate early

I've been gathering the stuff up - but I have to at least wait until after Saturday

hubby WOULD whine if I decorated for Christmas before Halloween was passed

I am a member of the black firday website that lets you see the "sale flyers " early.So They just posted the sears on and Sears will have the Digital photo frames for 29.99, so THAT is what I am getting my father who at 70 has EVERYTHING!!!

I can't move that quickly (bunged up knee) - I'd be the one you'd read about who got trampled.

I do recall, however, one year that I was out shopping for Christmas on Christmas Eve!!! NEVER want to do that again

Me either, I can't even stand to hear of the horror stories of people getting hurt or even killed over some stupid sale. A dollar isn't worth all that.​

Oh my... that is NOT enough time!!!
I'm taking it easy this year, mostly cuz we're broke.

I'm going to pack up small shippable boxes with fudge brownies & truffles from home and ship them as is. A couple of folks on the diet train will get fresh fruit.

We don't generally shop too much at stores.. stocking stuffers etc maybe, we mostly make the things we give each other hopefully a few clothing items..spend the day together as a family... cook yummy food, watch Christmas movies.. typical without the big 'haul' of items as seen in my own youth.

I am going to get ready for my (paid)almost two weeks off

Bonus this year because of where the 1st falls.

Start taking money here and there out of the remaining checks (4) and stashing it so that I can give my girls the best Christmas possible.

Oh, and wishing I could be home, unfortunately 1.5-2k in airfare is just out of our reach. Even if I had it, I would use it to fix my car.

Cost of travel is the reason the boys are coming home at Thanksgiving but not Christmas - I can't afford the bus tickets for both of them (can barely afford the ticket for one of them anymore, sheesh!!) So, they are hitching a ride with my mom and stepdad who were coming down anyway. I sent my youngest up north to visit family this summer and even in the summer it cost me almost 250 bucks round trip - holiday fares are higher.
