I enjoy giving my customers a colorful dozen

I will have to bow out of the x-mas hatch, I gave away my roosters, (the ones that I used in my last hatch,) and thought the young roosters I have were going to be "on the job" but my eggs are not fertile. I will try again maybe MLK day hatch or Groundhogs day hatch, or maybe a Valentine's day hatch. If I don't have roos up and running by then I would have to hope for a St. Patty's

Sorry to hear about your boys..... they will get up to par. Lol it looks like some of mine are infertile al also....

I did a candling tonight and found one blood ring.... out of 56 that's not too bad. I did see several that looked clear but I am not calling them yet, I probably will pull clears when I go into lockdown. Just 2 more weeks till fluff balls!

I havent been on this site in quite a while, but i set 24 eggs in to my diy incubator on dec 1 so i thought maybe to tag along :)
I picked up 12 barnyard mix, 2 copper marans, 2 olive eggers, 2 cream legbars and 6 assorted wyandottes from 2 local farms as i dont have roosters.
I candled them on day 10 and most are coming along nicely, theres even a double yolk from the barnyard mix! Ive never had that before so that should be interesting.
Unfortunately ive had 2 temperature issues (short lived spike and a dip when i wasnt home) and that resulted in a few blood rings . Ive ordered an actual thermostat but i wish i had done it sooner. It arrives tomorrow and hopefully that will settle things down

I look forward to watching everyones eggies!

Hello Everyone, I have tried to post 5 times since I set my Christmas to be babies on Dec 1 am hopeful THIS time it actually post so I can join all of you in the hatch-a-long. I have 18 eggs in my baker a mixture of the many different breeds my flock produces so it will be really exciting to see what hatches out of what. Will be candling tonight so hopefully will be able to be back on here tonight to update on what is happening in my baker.
