thand you! I appreciate it!They can have either as they are mixed breeds created using parents with both combs types.
So for example, I believe this is a RSL from the cross WL x RIRI believe, A lot of the hatchery "cinnimon queens" are RIR x White Leghorn. Resulting in a single comb.
While the original cinnimon queens are RIR x SLW, resulting in red birds, with rose combs, and some black in their hackles.
@TheOddOneOut
I believe you know more about this. Please correct me if I am wrong.
But aren't RI White recessive white? Isn't the white in the tail on many RSLs, or more specifically ISA browns, due to dominant white from a WL covering up the black?RIR x RI White.
Arg. I for sure thought ISA browns were White Leghorn x RIR.I have no idea what they are. I just remember reading that ages ago.
They use different crosses for their different names. Cinnamon Queen, Isa, Golden Comet etc.Arg. I for sure thought ISA browns were White Leghorn x RIR.
cinnamon queens were SLW x RIR
and I do know some RSL are RI White x RIR, but I thought ISAs specifically were WL x RIR.
I don't know anymore.
Ah okay. And Hoovers uses SLW?For CQ's, everyone except Hoover's uses RIR over RIW hens.
Yep.Ah okay. And Hoovers uses SLW?
