Circle P Coop

Alrighty. got the coop finished. I ended up putting red "construction" sand in the run and in the coop. Last night we went and picked out our hens and got our first two eggs today. My dachshunds still don't quite know what to think about'em. Introducing...Little, Nuggett and Noodle!

i only smacked it once...but it was a good one. Instant blood blister the size of a dime on the side of my thumb.

Looks like a great design, and well-made. Where do you have your nesting box(es)? I'm in the process of designing a coop now, and want to see what works well.
Thanks

I've got 1 nesting box inside the coop thay is accessible(sp?) from the little "egg door" on the outside of the coop. You don't have to enter the run to gather eggs. There is a "clean out door" that you get to from inside the run. I can provide more pics if needed.

Here's a pic of the sand/dirt in the run.

Da Roosts

I let the girls out in the morning to free-range in the backyard while we are gone to work. The dogs have become uninterested for the most part. They make there way back to the coop at dusk and we shut the pen gate. The egg routine seems to be 2 eggs one day and 1 on the next. My wife has really taken a liking to them.

Oh Yeah! Yesterday a toad hopped out from under the log you see in the last pic...He didn't last long! I'm convinced they're dinosaur decendants after watching that.
