[IMG] We have had our 2 hens for about a year, and just yesterday, we received a citation from a code officer that said we had 10 days to remove them or be fined and maybe prosecuted. The regulation states:
Chickens not allowed to be raised within 200 feet of neighboring property lines in this dstrict.
I live in the City of John's Creek in Georgia. It's a subdivision with 1/3 acre lots (not big enough to meet the requirement)

No neighbor voiced any concerns nor complaints to me, until I received this notice.

Fortunately, I have a friend who has a farm and I have left them with him. But these chickens are my pets. Any advice would be appreciated. They are hens, not roosters. My children, and the whole family is devastated.

I'm sorry [IMG] If you're up for a fight, you might want to try to change the city law. Here's how me and my family did it (along with tips for care, persuasive arguments, our city law, and stuff) at www.SoPoChickens.org
[IMG] I'm sorry you're first post had to be a sad one!
