City Chickens- How to cull?

I researched a lot before the fact...it really helped.

Agreed, every flock owner needs to mentally work through this. Because, if you keep birds for more than a few years, it IS GOING TO HAPPEN. IMO, just letting a sick or injured bird "live out her natural life, and die a natural death" is a dis-service to the bird. Birds hide their illness and pain very well. By the time you know a bird is sick, she is already suffering. Better to have a quick end than "hold her in your arms and try to comfort her as she slowly dies" like some folks report doing.
 
If you don't mind my asking, what did you do with the bird?

Bagged and in the trash. I know my hubby would never agree to eat her and my issue with burial or leaving her somewhere for scavengers is I don't want a predator to get a taste for my chickens.
