City Issued a Citation and claims we aren’t allowed to have chickens due to neighbor’s complaint. What are my options?

That stinks. By best friend lives in Mass and they just got told on by their neighbors. They had to get rid of their roo yesterday and were told to bring the number of hens down. They're so upset.

That’s exactly what happened last year. And we thought we’re off the hook.
So if their neighbors are anything like ours, warn them that it may only get worse from here. What was allowed last time may not be allowed this time.

If you have nuisance rats outdoors, use poison-free baits like RatX that include corn gluten meal or cob. Rats cannot digest corn, so it dehydrates them and eventually they die. There is no secondary poisoning risk for birds of prey, people, or pets.

Anybody here who thinks rats will die if they eat corn needs to go talk to any grain farmer and he'll tell you otherwise. The reason corn products work with rat poison is because you're giving the rat their food source mixed with poison.

For rats you should put chili flakes in your chickens food the chickens cant taste it and it also makes their yolks more orange but the rats hate it

@All4Eggs, I'm sorry this situation has gotten to this point.

Feed is in a big plastic tub, rat proof. I’ve seen rats eating the food out in the run, even in broad daylight.

Poison isn’t really an option because the chickens free range often. So we have been using traps ever since we discovered rats but they must keep reproducing or something to be causing this big of an issue.

Rat traps will never get rid of all the rats, poison is the only thing to do that.
Are you allowed an air rifle ? If you can shoot straight perhaps that is an option, but it will take a long time
