"We've got food," Beatrix said in a slightly gentler tone, "And weapons. You'll be a lot more likely to survive if you come with us." She brushed back a lock of hair and gave Aspen an appraising look.

Garrett looked to the new boy and smiled "So what did you wake up with?" he asked to start a conversation

Autumn glared at Beatrix; she had just ruined any hope of Aspen joining them. She shouldered her bow and ran into the forest. She continued running until she reached an overlook. She sat there with her feet dangling over empty space.
