CL selling "Feeder Chicks"?????

At .25c each I would be very worried about the genetic issues. and yep for reptiles mostly

I have seen feeder chicks sold for snakes.........but it was in the heat of the summer and no one could ship mice or rats. Usually, as far as I know, chicks aren't the first food of choice for snakes and stuff. I could never feed a chick to a snake- although, go figure, I don't have a problem feeding my kingsnake a mouse.

Wow, I know just where Port Orchard is too. I just moved here to the Fort Worth area from the Olympia Washington area. If I was still in WA I'd go get the little buggers.

I know! Poor little peeps! They aren't far from me but I don't have enough room for anymore right now. So sad. I have actually saved a feeder mouse before when I was young. I picked the tiniest one out of a tank of like 100. She was a little pig with black and white coloring. She didn't live long but she was spoiled until the day of her death. I had named her "piglet" because she ate so much. lol

Hey, snake's gotta eat, too. I've actually thought about doing this if I could get set up to hatch out sex-links. Girls would be keepers, boychicks would go to the local reptile store. Circle of life, baby.

I'm thinking of doing the same for my cats (who are raw fed) - breed black sex links, sacrifice the boys and raise/sell the girls. Of course, that is a matter of convenience/cost savings once I actually get my hands on a rooster...

I know I guess its no worse than culling a chick. I just dont wanna be the one to feed it to the sanke or even watch it eat them..

What is so sad? Next spring, I'm doing some out crossing that will result in sex link chicks. I don't want to spend time and money raising the cockerels. At least feeder chicks are being put to a use rather than just going in the trash.
