Everheart padded through the Thunderclan forest with Sunpaw, on their way to practice some battle moves. As she walked through the grass, she looked up at the blue sky. She couldn't help but think about what had happened ever since Fleetstar had asked her to be his mate. Soon after, Everheart had moved with him into the leader's den. Even though there was more room in the den, she still somewhat missed the crowded space inside the warrior's den, however she was very content being with Fleetstar. The news of their being mates had spread throughout the Thunderclan camp and a few of her clanmates had been disappointed and a little bit angry at the fact that Fleetstar had chosen her to be his mate because they still believed she had not proven her loyalty yet. "It doesn't matter a bit about what they think, as long as I'm with Fleetstar!" Everheart thought happily. "Everheart, can we begin training now?" Sunpaw meowed excitedly? Everheart realized they had already made it to the training clearing. "Yes, let's start." She faced Sunpaw. "Today I'll teach you the belly-rake, a good move for when it comes to ending or being in control of a fight. What you want to do is slice your claws against your opponent's belly. This move especially helps when you are pinned down by your opponent, because it is painful and surprising when done quickly, and your opponent will most likely let go of you, putting you back in control of the fight." Everheart meowed to Sunpaw. "I'm so excited to learn it!" Sunpaw replied, her ears quivering with anticipation. "Okay, we'll begin practicing. Sunpaw, jump at me and pin me down. I'll then slide underneath you and demonstrate it." "Okay!" Sunpaw pounced at Everheart, pinning her down. Everheart nimbly moved underneath Sunpaw, gently raking her sheathed claws through Sunpaw's belly fur. "Eeek!" Sunpaw squealed, letting go of Everheart. "See how surprising it is? If you are in battle, it's very painful, giving you even more of an advantage." Everheart told Sunpaw. "Now you try." Everheart jumped at Sunpaw and pinned her. Sunpaw struggled to turn herself, but she finally slid her sheathed claws on Everheart's belly. Everheart let go. "Good job. It can be difficult at first, but you'll get the hang of it!" Everheart meowed to Sunpaw reassuringly. "Yeah, I kind of had a hard time. Can we keep practicing?" Sunpaw replied. "Yes." Everheart meowed as she and Sunpaw continued training.Sunpaw was hunting through the prey pile for something to snack on. Everheart was on Highledge with Fleetstar, watching the clan scamper about their duties. Cherryfall was sharing tongues with her sister, Flutterwing was half in, half out of the medicine den talking to Dovewing, and a cluster of cats were working on the warriors' den, repairing the hole where a branch had fallen through it last sunhigh. Everyone was happy - it was a warm day, especially for leaf-bare, and there was plenty of prey, so much that there was no need for any more hunting patrols. Ah! A squirrel, my favorite! Sunpaw fished the squirrel out and settled in a patch of grass to eat it. After her meal, maybe she'd ask Everheart if they could do some battle training. With a content purr, she tore into her squirrel. All was right with the clans.
