I was wondering if Everheart could possibly be Fleetstar's mate in the future, since I know we need leader's mates in the list of spaces to be filled?
 
Sunpaw looked curiously at her mentor, Everheart, as the older cat approached her. She looks kind, she thought as Everheart touched her nose to her apprentice's forehead. "Can we go hunting?" Sunpaw asked eagerly.

Also, I forgot to say that if you need cats for a patrol or for your cat to talk to, you can use any of the cats in the books. Like Lionblaze, Nightheart, or Sunbeam. BUT YOU CANNOT USE THESE CATS AS YOUR CHARACTER AS THEY ARE FREE FOR ANYONE TO CONTROL.

"Yes, we'll start training with hunting. We'll hunt over by the lakeshore, near the halfbridge. Follow me." Everheart meowed. "Great!" Sunpaw eagerly replied. Everheart and Sunpaw made there way through the the forest territory of Thunderclan. "Hold on." Everheart's nose twitched as she picked up the scent of a ShadowClan patrol. "I scent a ShadowClan patrol nearby, Sunpaw. Let's go the other way." Everheart meowed to Sunpaw. As they began padding the other way, Everheart heard a cat yowl "Hey! What are you doing?" Three cats came barreling towards them, stopping at the scent borderline. Everheart only recognized only one cat from the patrol as Stormtail, a large tuxedo tom with green eyes. "Stay behind me, Sunpaw." Everheart told Sunpaw, who had a nervous look in her eyes. "Aren't you that kittypet that Thunderclan took in?" Stormtail eyed her suspiciously. "Yes, I am." Everheart responded boldy. "What are you doing with that apprentice?" another cat from the patrol questioned. "She is my apprentice, Sunpaw." Everheart meowed. "What?! Is Fleetstar that foolish to give a kittypet who has only been part of the clans for a few moons an apprentice?" the third cat meowed with disgust. "I am very loyal to the clans, especially Thunderclan, and I am sure that I know what I am doing, and so does our leader Fleetstar." Everheart responded shortly. "I don't have time to argue with these cats." "Come on Sunpaw, let's begin your training." Everheart meowed to Sunpaw, turning away from the ShadowClan Patrol, towards the other side of the lakeshore. Sunpaw padded after her.

"Okay Sunpaw, close your eyes and sniff the air. Since this is your first time hunting, try thinking of what the prey on the fresh-kill pile smells like. It will smell similar to that of living prey." Everheart meowed to Sunpaw. They had padded to the other side of the lakeshore after having encountered the Shadowclan patrol near the halfbridge. "Okay Everheart." Sunpaw replied Sunpaw, trying hard to concentrate. "I, I think I smell something!" Sunpaw meowed loudly with excitement. "Shhh, we don't want to scare any prey off." Everheart meowed good-naturedly. "Oops, sorry!" Sunpaw whispered. Everheart lifted her nose to the air. She caught the scent of a vole eating some seeds near a bush. "I think your onto something, Sunpaw! Now slowly follow the scent." Sunpaw continued holding her nose to the air and slowly padded to where the scent grew stronger. "I see a vole!" Sunpaw meowed excitedly. "Great!" Everheart replied happily. "Now, we'll work together to catch it, since teamwork is a key part when it comes to hunting with your clan." Everheart told Sunpaw. "I'll sneak up on it. It should catch my scent and run the other way towards that tree not too far from here. You'll be hiding behind it, and when it comes close, jump in front of and give it a quick nip behind the neck, so it has a quick and painless death. "Are-Are you sure I'll be able to do it?" Sunpaw meowed anxiously. "I'm sure you'll do fine." Everheart smiled at Sunpaw. Sunpaw slowly made her way around the vole and hid behind the tree. Everheart knelt the ground, quietly and stealthily making her way towards the vole, with her hindquarters low to the ground. The vole lifted it's head and caught Everheart's eyes. It ran quickly towards the tree where Sunpaw was hiding. Everheart caught Sunpaw's light green eyes filled with excitement and nodded. Sunpaw jumped from behind the tree and caught the vole perfectly between her jaws, giving it a quick nip. Everheart padded towards Sunpaw who came trotting towards her, happiness overflowing from her eyes. Pride and satisfaction filled Everheart's emerald green eyes as she stood in front of her apprentice. "I am so proud of you Sunpaw. You caught that vole perfectly and you did wonderfully working together. You are an awesome hunter, and I am sure Fleetstar and the rest of Thunderclan will be very proud of you as well!" Everheart meowed to Sunpaw. "Thank you, Everheart!!!" Sunpaw replied with delight. "Let's head home now." Everheart told Sunpaw as they walked towards the Thunderclan camp.

After the ceremony, they padded back into the medicine den and Mountainshine continued where they left off quizzing Dovepaw on her herbs. "What is horstail used for?" Questioned Mountainshine. "Horsetail is chewed to a poultice and applied to wounds. It treats infections and stops bleeding for minor wounds." Answered Dovepaw with a contented expression on her face. "Very good! You learn so quickly!" Her mentor complemented. "Thanks! But... do you have a minute to talk to me really quick?" Said Dovepaw. " Uh, sure..." Mountainshine replied with a concerned tone in her voice. "Do you think it was right of Fleetstar to choose Everheart as Sunkit - I mean Sunpaw's mentor? We all know she hasn't always been a warrior...Though she has proven her loyalty many times. I'm just thinking this because I was a rogue at first and most everybody kept telling me I can't be a real medicine cat since I wasn't born into the clan. I know everbody wasn't that excited about her being a mentor but I guess I was happy because that shows me that I can be a good medicine cat whether or not born into the clan. I just hope everyone can except me when I become a full medicine cat." She said. "Oh Dovepaw!" Said Mountainshine. You are going to be a great medicine cat! You are already progressing! Born into the clan or not I know that you were made for something special. So don't listen when other cats tell you that you can't do your job properly." Said Mountainshine sympathetically. "Thank you Mountainshine! I'll do my best to make you proud!" Said Dovepaw. "Okay enough chit-chat! Now go collect some more chervil root... There should be some near the dirtplace. Come back quickly so I can keep quizzing you!" "Okay!" Dovepaw shouted as she ran out of the den.

Dove ‘ Paw padded off near the dirtplace to look for some Chervil root. She appreciated Mountainshines kind words, but she still knew other cats didn’t look at her the same as they did to other medicine apprentices. She felt like she needed to impress everybody, then they would have no reason to doubt her! This thought made Dove ‘ Paw excited

“Right.. Chervil root.. Ah! Here it is” Dove ‘ Paw figured the best way to impress them was get a ton of it, so she pulled up a lot.

She happily returned back to camp and dropped it at Mountainshines feet

”Dove ‘ Paw? Why did you grab so much?” Mountainshine asked her in a kind tone

”Well.. i figured we could use some extra, you know.. before the other clans get to it!” she responded

“Dove ‘ Paw.. Starclan wouldn’t want us taking anymore than we need, i’m sure they wouldn’t want you accusing other medicine cats of coming on our territory and stealing it, either” She said firmly

“I’m sorry..” Dove ‘ Paw felt selfish after hearing that

”But it was a nice thought. You know for next time” Mountainshine gave her a brisk lick on the head and padded off to organize some herbs

@Chicken poppy , is it okay if I make up a little more of a backstory that Dovepaw doesn't remember because she was too young? I thought that maybe it would bring a nice twist to the story.
