Cleaner for Dog Messes? **PIC**

Cleaning the carpeting is kind of a waste IMO. The odor has seeped down into the padding and will be there. I would rip it up. If you're into little money and alot of work, tile starts at a buck for a 12x12 at Home Depot, and it lasts years and years, my experience. Then an area rug. I would also bleach the plywood underneath.
As for your floor, IMO ammonia is the way to go, they sell some sudsy ammonia as well. I use comet and a scrub brush to clean grout, but NOT at the SAME TIME.
Hope this helps

Yeah, I was concerned I might have to remove some drywall. It's all good though, my father's been hanging the stuff for over 30 years... my husband worked with him for 6 years, so at least I know they can hang those 2 rooms in their sleep. LOL

Another wonderful product that can be used for removing oder and urine from the floors is called "Stall Dry"
It is an awseome product. It will remove the urine & oder from carpet etc. Where ever you use it wash the area like you normally would spread a healthy amount of stall dry on the desired area while still wet.
The stall dry will suck the urine and oder out of the carpet/floor. When dry sweep or vacume up.

It has tons of other uses as well. I also used it on my dog after he was chest sprayed by a skunk. I rubbed him down with it. I did not bath him or anything. He was skunk smell free in 2 days. Normally, when he gets sprayed he stinks for 2 weeks.
It has many livestock uses as well.

Check out the internet for more info on the product and a local dealer near you.

Good luck,

Christie

Oh, downstairs I am. Trust me. LOL It's not expensive carpet in there anyways. I'm buying the shampooer for the upstairs. The dogs weren't up there, but it still has a funky musty smell to it.

We call it Stallboy, and it only works really for wet urine.... it pulls the urine out, and sucks it up, and then you sweep it away, definitely won't work on dried or barely moist urine, and it really doesn't get rid of the smell.

I'm not sure about urine odor, but I purchased a wool blanket off Ebay and it had the WORST mothball smell you can imagine. I did everything imaginable to remove it but I swear it just got worse....sunshine, dryer sheets, vinegar, etc...

I went to our local "Mother Earth" store and saw a small spray bottle of Ecover plant based window and surface cleaner. I'll try to get the exact name and let you know. It didn't say anything about taking out mothball odors, but I figured..."What the hel**"...I've tried everything else and the blanket is going to be unusuable unless I find something." I lightly sprayed it over the blanket on both sides and layed it over some chairs on the porch to dry. It was absolutely odor free within 10 minutes!!! I can't tell you how excited I was. I really believe it would work for urine too.

Oldtimegator, I have allergies to certain ingredients. Does your container of Ecover say what's in it?

I bought a stack of 2nd hand wool blankets

and know they will need to be cleaned and freshened before ever being used.

Ditto on the Nature's Miracle.

Oh, and if you discover a flea problem, I highly recommend Flea Busters. We bought ours off the internet. It is by far the best method I've ever found, and low toxicity.

For urine I love urine off or petrotech. Petrotech got urine smell out of my car after my cat peed in the seat and it was warm out yuck. But those have been my choices lately I recommend them to clients when asked what I like

I don't know if this will help, but i use to replace floors.Sometimes we did apartments that had animal smells real bad.We would rip up the carpet and then put a sealer down.
