They can also move each eye independently....(were you going to put that as one of the cluckamazing facts, if so, this post can be deleted....
I'm sure their vision is vastly superior to mine in distance, close-up, and peripheral.
That’s why chickens walk nodding their heads. This way they continuesly see far and close at the same time.

Sorry, just checked and it is not completely correct what I wrote. Info from beestig.be/vraag/waarom-knikken-kippen-met-hun-kop-tijdens-het-lopen:

When they take a step, chickens first move their heads forward. They then move their bodies while keeping their heads still. That looks funny and awkward, but for the chicken this "internal stabilizer" is important to properly absorb the environment.
Chickens have to keep their heads still to see details clearly. Think of food or predators that cross their path. But to see depth, the chicken must move its head forward. That is why she always makes the movement while walking: silent - forward - silent - forward ...

DAY 37 CLUCKMAZING FACT~ Chickens attach great importance to making a nest. They start their nest by scratching a shallow hole in the ground. Then they carry twigs and leaves on their backs to the upcoming nest, where they let the nesting material slide off and create a raised edge around the dimple. They do not eat or drink while making the nest until the nest has sufficient privacy and is safe from predators! This is in the wild usually.

Sorry the fact was so late :(
Thanks to @BDutch for info on this fact!

Well thanks to you, @TheChiggens for brightening these gray, cold, winter days!

DAY 38 CLUCKMAZING FACT~THE CHICKEN IS A FOREST ANIMAL
The chicken is descended from the red fowl from Southeast Asia. Her behavior is often the same as that of her wild ancestors. In a natural environment, modern-day chicken spends most of its time searching for food. She runs great distances and can fly short distances. She likes to climb trees and stay there at night to protect herself from predators (sticking)!!!
Smart Bird! Sadly they are endangered. :hit

Thanks for @BDutch for info on this fact! You gave me a treasure chest of them!
