DAY 44 CLUCKMAZING FACT~ Chicken feathers are waterproof. They waterproof them by using a gland located where their tail feathers meet the saddle feathers. It looks like a small bump on their skin. They will reach back and bite the bump several times, then clamp their beak down on the base of one of their own feathers and slide to the end of the feather, and then they repeat the process. Also, silkie feathers are not waterproof, and I don't know about frizzles and frazzles.
