Flock Update!

Everyone is doing well! There have been no predator attacks or illnesses, knock on wood.
Eclipse, Galaxy, Nala, and Pepper are laying eggs. Nala just started and her little robin-blue eggs are sooo adorable! ❤🥰 I’m currently getting 4-5 eggs per day. I think Eclipse is my best layer so far. Makes sense because she’s an ISA Brown.

Yesterday I made a huge “upgrade” for the flock! ☺️ Since I finally sold all of the chicks/pullets it is only my birds left and I can relax and enjoy the “simple chicken life” again. 😅😉 So, the upgrade is this:
I opened the ‘doors’ so the pens are all connected and my babies have a very large area now! They are so happy!

This picture kind of shows one of the openings.

I don’t think I’ve said this on BYC yet, but I was going to rehome Neo my BCM rooster because he was crowing too early in the morning and waking up some of my family members. Fortunately, it’s September now and the weather is getting colder so now the bedroom windows are shut at night and his crow doesn’t wake them up anymore! 😇 I can keep him, at least for now.

Trinity is the only one getting a little beat up by him. Luckily not too bad though.

I think that’s all for now. 🙂 Thanks for reading!!

Note: I will probably keep this flock until late October or early November. 🥲

Glad all is well! For Trinity, a chicken saddle will help a lot. ;)
