thank you for the link I just ordered everything I could think of express mail. Hopefully it will get here tomorrow but I doubt it.
In the meantime I just got off the phone with the feed store again and after serching they said they have something that claims it works for cocci so I am going to get it in the afternoon when ds in in pre-school.
The way I am looking at it is that my hens that have been raised organically only and are for egg production I will continue using organic methods, but for any chook that is not being used as an organic egg producer (like my new SG, silkies and Araucanas which will be for hatching and breeding will be switched or raised using what you all think is best since I never bothered to research non organic methods before. Probably purina starter medicated and then purina layer I guess. It will certainly save me money. Now if I can only save my chicks I will be ok.
I really dont get this none of these chicks have ever been outside and if you saw how clean I keep things... well lets just say I have not showered in 3 days
but all of my brooders, waterers, and my ds are clean as a wistle all the time, I would even drink out of all of my waterers that is how clean they are.
I read somewhere that sunlight is important and although my brooder is right onder a window they dont get much sun. So I put my grow lights (sorry eggplants) over them to give them some extra artificial sun light.
