I just woke up and upon changing my chicks' water saw that someone had poo'd in the food dish. It was a mix between clear/whitish mucousy and red... I'm thinking cocci? I don't have any meds yet and am getting ready to head into work. None of the birds are showing any signs of being sick, but I'm thinking of treating for cocci just in case. Do I treat all of them? And, what should I pick up from the feed store?

    Thank you.

Chickens sometimes have reddish poos that are shed intestinal lining and nothing to worry about. It may be a good idea to have the meds on hand, though, and you can keep an eye out for bloody poops, lethargy, and puffing up. Get Corid or Sumlet.
