over the weekend, I noticed one of my Orpington girls (will be 2 years in march) had a pale comb. She was acting normal, just pale, so I kept an eye out.
On Tuesday, I saw she was moving pretty slowly, puffed up, wings held down, not super interested in food or water, but was still eating. I couldn't single out what her poop was like, so I started CORID because she seemed to have the majority of the symptoms I was reading about for Coccidia.
I separated her, have her in a dog crate in one of the stalls in my barn with pine bedding and some hay to fluff up, along with some wet down crumble, egg, water, and I added in some grass i have been growing inside the house for her.
She isn't interested in food or water, but I've been giving her water with a syringe so she's at least getting the CORID in her system if that will help, along with staying hydrated. She did eat all of the grass I had cut off for her. I have only seen one poop after I crated her, and it was from yesterday. and it was a little watery, with white/green in it. No blood.
She feels like she's lost a ton of weight, but I'm so confused, as she has always been a good eater. I tried to feel around her hind end for anything solid in case she was egg bound, but I can only find one small hard lump that is definitely nothing egg like. She is not doing ANY tail pumping, no gasping for air, her vent is not opening and closing, so I don't think she is egg bound.
I'm at a loss. I love this girl, and she was one of my original 3 girls, and I have no idea what to do. It's still chilly in the barn, should I move her into the house to help? Will that potentially stress her out even more if she can't hear the other chickens? I don't want to lose her.
