Hello all,
Our jenny has had diarrhea for several weeks. This may be caused by a few things:
- she had 2 different types of antibiotics to treat bumblefoot. I just started more intense probiotics, though I've been giving her yoghurt now and then.
- Stress from bumblefoot surgery and me changing her bandages.
- Changing her food from layer to grower suddenly
- maybe she didn't have enough access to dirt, since she is on partial packed dirt and partial pea gravel (which I think is too big enough to eat). I gave her more grit this evening.
Other than the diarrhea, she is acting normally, active and mad when I go in her coop and don't let her out since she has to eat her medicated food (I'm currently treating with Duravet type C). That's why I don't know well how to treat this - she seems normal otherwise. She is also molting pretty badly right now; new feathers are growing in.
Does this seem like coccidiosis, other worms, or ordinary diarrhea? I'll attach a photo of her poop. Sometimes it's a bit foamy, but never lemon or sulfur yellow, more mustard brown.
If we use Corid, can you still eat the eggs? She isn't a meat bird.
Thank you for input from those more experienced!!!
