Coccidiosis or something else?

Hello! I am hoping you can help me identify a problem. We are first-time owners and have 11 chickens and 4 guinea hens (all about 20 weeks) who are housed together. This morning, I found one nest with bloody stool in it. I have no idea which chicken it is as everyone seems to be acting normally. The picture below is what it looked like. Any advice on what to do? Thank you!

That looks bloody to me, more than normal intestinal shed. Have you recently moved these birds into your yard possibly exposing them to a new strain of cocci? Coccidiosis can cause bloody stools, and so can capillary worms. I would use SafeGuard liquid goat wormer 1ml orally to each chicken given for 5 days straight. Capillary worms are harder to get rid of than the usual roundworm, so a higher dosage than usual for several days is required. If you feel that cocci is the problem, then I would treat with Corid first--dosage is 2 tsp of the liquid per gallon of water for 5 days, and treat all chicks. Having a stool checked today by your vet might help you to know which to treat first.

Thank you! They've been in our yard for a couple of months now so nothing new. I'm desperately trying to find a poultry vet in our area but having no luck!

I had the stool sample checked and it is cocci so I started Corid yesterday. Thank you for your response!
