Cochin breeding, genetics, and showing

What have you found to be the best way to determine which hen laid which egg, since they are not great layers (don't lay ever day) I don't want to keep them locked up in small space. I still want to show them so afraid of dye staining feathers. I have a breeding trio.

Hello peeps,
I have some bantam Blue cochins that I love as a breed. I have a black hen in the mix as well and they are the best breed. They give me all 3 colors of BBS. My questions to you experts are......Are the large cochins tempered like the bantams? Who has Partridge LF Cochins in here? Who sells eggs/chicks near upper east TN?

I want a totally different color of the larges. My only large fowl are some BLK Blue-laced Red Wyandottes. They have sold me on the Lg version of chickens. I still love my "fluffy butts", but I would love to try some large Cochins. Anyone out there that can get me started?? I don't have a massive operation, so I don't want to order a truck full from a hatchery and I would rather buy from a breeder that has type going already.

Thanks!!

This is Blue. He is my Blue Cochin Rooster.

This is Honey. She is my Buff Cochin and my only cochin hen.

I bred my two Cochins this summer and this is the product. He is the only egg that hatched. And i love his coloration!! I'm excited to see what he grows up to look like. His parents are the two above. So he's half Blue and Buff Cochin. His name is Conan.

I will be breeding my Blue and Buff cochins this coming year again, if you are interested let me know.

anyone know what's in his genetics. he's a blue mix i suspect because i can't find a blue that looks like him and i would like to recreate him.

is that Easter egger? if so shadow is a definite Cochin. the hen laid brown eggs. this is her in front.

might i suggest watching who's laying and then marking with a sharpie. of course once they hatch it'll be impossible to know what chick hatched from which egg unless you cleared the shells as they hatched but that is a good way to pecked.

the only cochin i have is my roo Shadow. however when i had my hen she started laying a month after i got her and only skipped a day due to nervousness when a hawk got to close. she even tried to continue laying after a snake got in. a coon got her. but i'll say this. i've only hatrue experience with shadow but he's a great rooster. cochins are worth it.
