Cochin breeding Q

When is the best time to start breeding LF Cochins? I know you have to remove the feathers around the vent on the roo and hen, and cannot be shown. These are my main two breeders. Dolly-hen, Bubba-rooster

I don't do any specialized breeding, but my guess is you want the eggs in there prime. For an older hen I would guess that to be a couple weeks after they have been laying after break. For pullets you want to make sure the eggs are normalized in size
