Cochin Chick Feathering

How slow are cochins to feather? I have 17 cochin babies 2 weeks old and they only have some wing feathers. No tail feathers at all and completely fluffy bodies. I don't remember my other breeds being this slow. Unless I have 17 roosters
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

@pipdzipdnreadytogo has some LF cochins I think, not sure if Overo has any. But I'd I remember correctly, they are slow maturing

I have a full grown cochin momma laying on eggs but for the life of me can't remember how she feathered

I think they feather slow. I have a blue cochin and she is 10 weeks and took her forever to grow in feathers.

The large fowl are slooow featherers typically. It's been many years since mine were chicks, but it seems like they were half naked forever with just their pantaloons feathered in. I don't think they ever really looked like they grew tail feathers because if I remember right they floofed out before the tail feathers really came in so it all blended together into their floof. If you're trying to judge sex by feathering speed, that doesn't work accurately on most pure breeds as it's a sexlinked cross for the feathering speed gene, K.

I plan on keeping 6 if they are hens and rehoming the rest so yes essentially I am asking for sexing purposes but I also want to know how long I have to keep the 17 to get my 6
