Hi guys!
I'm fairly new to this forum and to chickens. I've owned them before when I was living at home, but I've just moved out and we've gotten two chickens for the first time! One of my hens is a large Cochin named Tatiana (I don't think she's a Bantam). I've done some research leading up to getting her, but I'd love to know from some people who have lots of experience with Cochins.
First of all, she has quite dirty bum feathers, and I was wondering if this is a normal trait for Cochins? There's no blockages, it just seems to stick to her.

Does anyone have any basic info about Cochins, and what they're like? She's still really scared of me and I want her to love me!

You just have to earn their trust spend time with them.

If you can get ahold of her turn her upside down and that will stop her from moving much and have someone trim or vise versa. I use a fishing net to catch chickens when i need to treat them.
