Cochin Quandary

Well, anyway- the cochin hens I have that have been laying for several months don't have wattles like that.

Yeah........that's what's been worrying me - those long wattles and tall comb. I have seen pics of hens with bigger combs but the majority haven't been quite as pronounced. Either way we'll keep Clementine, but I'd prefer a hen since I only have one coop and I already have a roo!

This is my laying hen. She is about 22 to 24 wks old

This is my other hen that I suspect will be laying soon. The roo is in the background. Notice the size of the hen's comb and waddles.

Well, we can wonder no more. CLementine started crowing this morning. She is a HE. Ah well.....
I guess that just means I need to build a second coop and get more hens, right?
