Cochin roo or pullet?

Okay.... Well, now on to my next question; is there any reason to discard the eggs that we've gotten for the past few weeks? They have been at room temperature, but I'd hate to have a surprise in one. I know, there won't be a chick, but would it be warm enough for any development to have occurred?

No reason at all

Nope, you don't have to discard the eggs. Fertile eggs only begin developing at 90+ degree temperatures, not average room temperature.

I've always kept roosters in my laying flock, and I rarely refrigerate my eggs. They set on the kitchen counter in my un-climate controlled kitchen. I've never once, in 20+ years, had a nasty surprise when I cracked an egg.
