Cochin Thread!!!

Hello All,
I am planning on starting my cochin bantam flock soon. However, I have run into a problem. I do not know what color to get. I love all of them and get seem to pick a favorite. Please help me out! What should I start with? TY - Katie.

Hi Katie. Depends on what you really like. Some people like a nice solid like a beautiful black or snowy white. Some people like something a little more flashy like MF or mottled. Maybe you want a color that is already competitive with great type and then a second color that you could work on? Just my opinion and I am very new at this. I couldn't decide, which is why I have a few varieties!

Absolutly Gorgous!!! I have seem your guy's talking about slipped tendones? What do they look like?
It is generally a male Large Fowl issue. They will walk on the back of their hock on one leg with the foot turned out and the hock turned in. If you feel both hocks, one will feel different and enlarge over time. They seem reluctant to move around, likely due to pain.

Wow!!! What a bunch of beautiful cochin pics of the last couple days!! I can't wait to see what mine will look like when she's grown up. I just have one because I couldn't resist adding one to my new baby flock. She is now 4 weeks old (hope it's a she - sold as a pullet). She's hitting that scraggly age.

Here are some better pics of my chicks.I think there still to young to sex but their feathers are really coming in quickly.I'm surprised cause the oldest two are at 2weeks and the others are a few days behind youngest being at a little over a week.
