Cochin Thread!!!

can some one help me i have a baby chick i ordered from the hatchery it got here today and now its acting weird and seems to be having trouble breathing i gave it some of that stuff you buy and put in chick water i took it away from the others what should i do to keep it alive plzz help me

have you posted in the emergency thread yet, I am not good with these things but someone over there may be able to help ya.

Depends on quality. I paid $5 each for laying hatchery LF cochins (i wouldn't go over $10 for HQ). And I paid $50 for a pair of good quality bantams from a reputable breeder (I probably wouldn't pay more than $150 for a pair).

Agreed, doesnt look like a pure cochin to me either.

She is 100% pure cochin. go to the link below the hen is related to the ones shown . I got my cochins straight from Rich Barcheski

Here is the rooster when he was a cockeral. He has a straight comb. Not the best pic, but the only one i have of him.

I paid $50 each for my black bantams from Jamie Matts. I did buy my Tom Roebuck rooster 3rd hand and got him for $35. My understanding is you normally won't find birds from a breeder of quality birds for less than $50 a bird. I have already been quoted $75-100 for a pullet/hen.
