Cochin Thread!!!

I unplugged my incubators in July so I would not have winter chicks again. I let the Columbian pair by the wall hatch out the last chick hatched here in 2014. The other pictures are of the Black pullets I saved for myself. All have something I like. I especially like the one with the cushion towards the camera for her cushion-feather width.

Wow, they are beautiful! Thanks for sharing the photos!

Here is a photo of my first bantam cochin...a blue chick that hatched 2 days ago. I'm bummed I only got 1 chick, but he seems to be doing fine by himself.

Now the search for more bantam cochin eggs begins, because 1 just isn't enough!! Anyone know a good source for B/B/S hatching eggs?

Love your baby. If you were located close to me I would let you have one of my babies born NYE, but I don't think I could ship it now. Where r u located?

I just bought 16 baby White Cochin chicks... They won't be available until the spring but I was told they go rather quick. Been doing some research on them and just fell inlove with how cute they are. I hear they do not like heat though, we have a AC unit in out chicken coop so I am not to concerned with keeping them cool on the hot humid days.. but when is it to hot to let them out?

Also, could someone post a pic of what show quality Cochins would need to look like?

Thanks

Bantam or Standard? I have show quality bantams, this is what they look like.

Basically two cotton balls with a head.
