Every variety other than Black, White, Mottled. Blue, Splash and Buff in Bantam are varieties at risk or rare. If a variety is not on this list is not a recognized variety ( like Self Blue, Calico, Mille Fleur)
 
This is accurate information.. Splash became a recognized variety in late 2014.

Awesome!, thanks for the info. I will definitely look into all these colors. This is a really random question, but how much do you sell your hatching eggs for?

I don't often sell eggs until I hae hatched all I intend to for the year. If the hens are still laying then I sometimes offer them for sale. I do that on a different site. Cochins Sale page on FB.. I don't have any for sale at this time. There are some states that I can not legally ship to. Virginia is one. Even though my flock is NPIP I do not meet the requirements to ship to Va and a few other out east which have requirements that my state does not test for.

as of right I do not have any cochins. but I want to buy some chicks this year. I live in Montana so it gets pretty cold. some times It some times gets as low as 25 bellow. I have had some other chickens die from the cold and do not want to lose any more chickens. and I was also wondering how many eggs do they lay per day.
