some of my new brood silky Cochin chicks mother was a silky Cochin mix but gave her eggs to my silky to brood I have some more under another silky.

mama silky with brood of mixes ignore the New England but my NE rooster surcommed to preditor hawk and mama NE wasn't brooding yet.

Very cute birds! Last December a predator got most of my chickens. I was left w 5. My Cochins were among the lucky survivors.

what color would you call the chick on the middle my mama Cochin silky is either a silver or a blue I'm not sure on color.

Sorry for your loss. I have more chicks than I can handle now my silkies and silky/Cochin hens just hatched 13 chicks. What's really neet is that they all take care of each other's chicks.

Not sure yet the chicks are Cochin/silky mix the lighter one is 2nd generation.
