Cochin Thread!!!

new chicken owner and from the local feed store I picked two from the group labeled black Cochin pullets and then in another brooder 1 bantam frizzle . I am very confused since they are all frizzled and no idea what size or gender they will be. That said they are sort of cute,but they need to grow more!

If you breed a standard Cochin and a bantam Cochin will you get bantam, standard, or a mix? How does that work?

I would assume you would get an in between sized bird.

My flock grew out to be For Sure 3 cockrels and 1 pullet

The only pullet is the black smooth feathered bird. The frizzle was first in line for keeps but he tried to flog me today so still a partridge and a (poor example) gold laced. I guess im telling dh to keep the partridge.

This last pic is my orig gal who needed a flock of her kind

What color is that? And that is a Cochin.. correct?
And your black one looks just like Petunia... she started laying the other day.. 18weeks.. and tiniest eggs ever .. still waiting for her sisters to start.. hers is the smallest egg.. obviously
