Cochin Thread!!!

My Pickens eBay eggs are all grown up. I only got the two, but they are sweet boys. Any feelings on confirmation? I think my bigger boy definitely has a few flaws - split comb? and he doesn't have all his foot feathering.

It's hard to judge from this angle, but his comb looks good. It has a bit of a split in it. His biggest flaw would be his feet. He appears to be a bit long and upright as opposed to broad and compact. Not really a good angle to judge any of that though. He is super stinking cute. Love his face!!!

Quite possibly. Could be genetics as well. They're cute!
My daughters and I have enjoyed watching them grow and change with all of our unexpected time at home this spring. We almost just got the columbian wyandotte but the lady I got them from is a parent of on of my girls' friends. Her daughter was telling us we should get some cochins. I looked them up and had to get some! They are too cute. I've learned quite a bit and look forward to learning more.

Cochins are the best! I imagine your daughters love them. 🤗

10 week old standard partridge cochin, was told hen when I got her but comb/wattles a lot bigger than the other one I got. Do I have a cockerel? Treated for vent gleet as a chick, I guess males can have too or maybe diagnosis was wrong, thanks.

Hey all!!!! So! I am not sure if this is really the place for this but it is about my cochin bantam cockerel named Bam Bam. :) I have read that there are delayed feathering genes as I noticed that Bam Bam wasn't feathering up like everyone else. He did his neck and wings and legs but everything else back butt and underside took FOREVER! His "siblings" are all feathered up now...its just him that's a little off. For a while I assumed since there is delayed feathering genes out there that maybe he would eventually put up some feathers. Well, after reading more on the delayed feather gene and it sounding not like that's his issue I went out to he barn and actually felt his downy areas....I feel no quills it legit feels like I am petting a silkies puffy bum haha. That surprises me because I don't think a bird can be half normal feathered half...silkied....right? LOL! Anywho, it IS possible I am sure that he still feathers up normally but I am shocked how stuffed animal like he feels and he's even got some on his chest. Any and all thoughts welcomed! Thanks!

My goodness he is beyond adorable.

That is super strange! How old is he?
