Cochin Thread!!!

glad to join the cochin thread...

i drove 200 miles to pick these guys up... i got 8 giant blues, and i think they are 4 weeks old... what do you guys think...?

sorry for the crummy cellphone pics...

anyways, they are still all fuzzy and haven't feathered up much... i live in los angeles... when can i throw them in the huge coop/run outside...? i think there are six pullets and two roo's... i'm excited... they're in my living room in a brooder stinking up the place... i'm so happy... LOL...

bad news mrs. fluffy puffy... it's the same pullet... i think i do have to roo's and 6 pullets, but tomorrow when the sun is out i'll take a picture of each one and make a what'cha think they are thread... need to burrow a good camera though... cell phone pics are so horrible...

I'd wait until they've got some size on them. That pullet is beautiful and you wouldn't want her killed by some nasty, temperamental hen or somebody else. Chickens are never friendly and welcoming to newcomers. Well, maybe I should qualify that statement by saying VERY rarely and somebody or several somebodies will ALWAYS pick on the newbie.
 
I wouldn't mix them in with the others until they are about the same size. I would put them in a big dog crate in the run and pen with the others for a couple of weeks until they get used to seeing each other.
