Shawna...............you're just messing' with us now aren't you? That's not even a Cochin, I don't think it's even a breed, it's just a yard bird. I wouldn't breed it to anything.

pics of my blr 3 month old cockerel (he's still not got all his adult feathers in yet and type is obiously not good). if anyone can help me with getting a nice typed gold laced female to breed to him I would be ecstatic!!

I do not have the space to breed large numbers of birds and good type is a must to improve this program. I would love to have someone else that is willing to work on this project also and be able to swap offspring to get this right

Hey guys. I'm kinda new to cochins and was looking for a little input. I'll have to get you better pictures of my birds when I get home so you can see type better but right now i'd like some imput on their color. They're not a standard color but I really like them because they're different. I'd like to continue with something like these as a project but I'm really not sure where to start aside from breeding this trio together and seeing what happens. The calico looking one is the cockeral. They all came from Fattie as well as some great splashes.

Keep in mind I'll get pictures for type later. Fattie labeled them as pet quality but I'd like to know exactly what is good or bad about them. I should be able to get pictures for type in a few hours. For now here are pictures of their color. Do they look to have good feather quality? What would you call their colors?

The 2nd one looks patterned and colored a bit like my Quail Old English Game Bantam pullet.

The cockerel and the pullet in the first pic look like they're mottled crosses of some kind, really nice looking patterning whatever it is. I'm not an expert on type, so not positive what makes them pet quality other than the obvious non-standard colors. The only thing that stands out to me is the tail on the cockerel. It looks a little odd in the pic, like it's silkied and stikcing straight up in the air, but it may just be the photo.

His tail was chewed on before I got him. It's just not growing back yet. I forgot to mention that in my post. lol.

I really like the patterning on these guys even though they are not standard colors and what not. I think they are simply gorgeous. I'll get pictures of the splashes as well as these guys for type when I get home in about an hour or two
