they're a little young to critique still. make sure you check your foot and leg color. wings seem to be nice from what I can tell. check for the lay of the wing when it's spread and make sure theres not a gap between the primaries and secondaries

Yes, that is odd, with all the good pictures that were taken, why photoshop?

I want to know what makes you think those pictures were not taken with their cage doors opened. That is the way we took pictures of Cochin large fowl. I helped with the bantams. We actually did take pictures of all Cochin winners in their cages for Cochin International. I hung the ribbons on each cage of Cochin winners. All large fowl were in double coops. The large fowl Black was directly behind the LF GL Cochin.

At first I thought someone had just taken the original pics (yours) and added the frame, but if you look at the original post of those pics we're debating there is a haze or hallo around the bird and they aren't "sitting" in their shadow. They may be your pics Craig, but someone has had a little fun with the frame, lighting, etc. I personally would prefer to see your pictures, and Mandy's pictures, unaltered. I don't think there was any harm intended, but I've used Photoshop professionally for years and there is a "look" that a picture gets when it's been altered. Are those your pictures Craig? I didn't think they were the ones that the club took.

I took another look at the pics and I think maybe they just cleaned up the chicken poo. If you look around the feet you can see that light hallo I was talking about. I've done that before when working with images of horses. They will sometime go to the ............ and spoil a perfect picture. I've also had to remove telephone polls that were coming out of the top of their heads or elsewhere, just all kinds of silly things that can ruin an otherwise perfect picture.

I'm sorry, but this bird is not even standing on the shavings in this picture. The halo around the bird, as though from completely different lighting. I'm not saying it's not their bird, just seems odd that it is photoshopped.

Edit: Maybe it's just the halo that throws the shadows off?

Looks to me that they wanted to lighten up the foot area so they took a big round photoshop brush and hit color dodge. You can see the circle outline of lighter color...
