Cochin Thread!!!

I have been working on this color for several years now. This is where I am with the project right now. I started with very good quality cochins which I hope shows through in the pictures of the offspring below. I was considering selling a few eggs from these birds. If I tried to sell a few eggs from these birds, would anyone be interested? Just curious. BTW no birds to sell just eggs.

true crele would be barred black breasted red (duckwing)... so brown red barred would be more accurate IMO. I have plans of my own, to 'make' a bbr cochin, but it's just in the plans, as i haven't found the right birds to use yet... and dorking would be wrong, as all my cochin/dorking chicks end up with 5 toes fuzzy feet and LOOOONG backs. LOL

My Blue Cochin chicks arrived this morning I only ordered five but got an extra! They look more black to me is this normal? do i have 2 different colors here, Are they blue?

Cute chicks! Some could be black some, some could be dark blue. You never know till they grow up.

Twyla, very pretty chicks. I have quite a few mottled and MF splits running around myself.


Grumpy, they do look a little dark. But, they change so much. Give them some time.
