Beautiful!

post a pic of them with something we can gauge for size... at that age it's EASY to tell since the lf will be much larger than the bantams.

here's a pic of some of my mille fleur cochin chicks last fall, with a dorking (LF) the same age... and my blue laced red Wyandotte roo is in the background but you can't really see him well.
these chicks were about 8 weeks or so at that point.

Here's my three. It's hard to get good pictures of them because the little cockerel feels its his job to make sure everyone sticks together in a small, tight bunch. Here's one of my pullets foraging with the silkies they're brooded with at about six weeks old. The silkies are six weeks old in this shot, too.

Question, I have a Mille Rooster, calico hen with a couple of Mille hens. Hatched out babies and they look like Penquins??? Occassionally I get a Mille but for the most part Black and White chicks? Why is this happening when I don't have any whites or blacks in this coop??

I have that question too -- I ordered some MFC bantam eggs and hatched them. All were MF except one...he is what I would call a Birchen color. How does that happen? LOL The person I purchased the eggs from said she has NO black/white cochins. Strange.

I wonder if it's in the gene, perhaps My Rooster has a strong black and white gene somewheres. LOL , I don't know but it keeps happening. I have a coop with blacks and whites but they aren't near my mille coops, wonder if it's possible that the Love juices from my black rooster is flying in the air and my Mille and Calco Hens are putting there tushes up in the air and catching it before it hits the ground.... LOL.. Most of mine are black with white chest and white faces. Looks identical to a penguin only difference is they don't wobble like one. LOL..

it all depends on which way the mille fleur evolved, whether it came from wheaten, partridge, or other color bases... if you have one with wheaten base and breed to a partridge base, the only thing that's consistent is the mottled.

that's why some peoples chicks are colored differently than others. mine are on a partridge line, so most chicks come out a golden brown color, while other people get more buff chicks, or other colors too for that matter.
