Went to the NWSS today, I know it's unfair to post this until I download the pics but a Black Cochin LF hen was Ch Asiatic, very nice girl, I'd have let them give her to me LOL.

I just got a buff hen that came from Tom. Not directly but through a friend. He gave her to me. I guess everyone has culls.
I can use her in my buff barred project but I shall have to see how she crosses with some of my boys. I bred her last year to my buff roo for my friend and she never gave him anything good to work with. He is now out of the buff business but I have a new buff hen to put with my buff barred project. Her color isn't as good as my other buffs but her shape is okay. I will have to get photos of her once she is out of quarantine.

that was another project I thought about... buff barred. and this guy would work well with them too, but his primary purpose right now is to help my reds, since I haven't been able to get a good red roo yet.

Love my reds. Mine are less than decent quality, too. I want to work on them but already have way too many projects going on. I get down to about 450 birds and then start hatching everything they lay and BOOM! I am back up to 700 and overworked to where I do not enjoy them.
I really wanted my reds for the crele project but again, another project.

I just purchased a young (not even POL yet) white Cochin bantam pullet. She's darling! I'm beginning to like Cochins very much.

I just ordered 3 Silver-Laced Cochins and am very excited! What pretty birds! I'm curious though, if anyone has any pictures of Silver-Laced Cochin chicks? I ordered them with a few other breeds and wants to be able to identify them easily
