Cochin Thread!!!

I really want to house some more birds soon. Ive got a place by my house that gives away pallets for free so Im thinking this friday Ill get my happy a** outside and build me a double coop for my cochin projects. I feel like people rely on their spouses too much. My DH doesnt really have much input on my birds because the way I see it, he's not the one feeding them, caring for them, or even paying for feed. Im so excited for my days off I love building new coops!!!

Mystoneharden good luck on your coop building! I wish I could do those things but I am limited with height and back issues. I got out to beat spikes in coop till the scaffolding wouldn't help me reach. Hubby n his family really help a lot with building things for my birds so thankful but I wish I could do more on my own.

Forgive my ignorance but OUT OF PALLETS?? My company pitches pallets everday which makes me nuts!! If I could use those... it's on! I would love to see pics.

I do all my own building here too. My coops, my run, my stalls, my barns, all my horse fencing, hay, property care (12 acres + 140 pets), house care, everything on top of working a full time job and also being the counties miniature equine farrier. Plus all my hobbies.
Lol
(And yep I'm married)

Mindylee, wow,we ladies are busy are we not. yes cleaning house, working full time , flowerbeds, critter care and crocheting, quilting and Harley my hobbies, I just wish my building skills were better. kinda hard to be on a latter with no one around for me though.
Mystonegarden , I have seen pics of awesome coops done out of pallets. I too wish I could get a load of the ones my plant gets. some would have been large enough to been my 8'x12' floor.

Made this in february, out of repurposed pallets and scrap wood. The coop is just for roosting and nest boxes. Im only housing 6 chickens in it the coop is 7.5×4 the run is 15x6. The coop is devided in half but the run is not. Im debating dividing the run to house the bantam cochins and just making a new coop for my layers.

I also made this brooder out of a recycled trashcan holder

I have 19 new Cochin babies hatched last night and through the day today. I LOVE my Cochins. These won't last long. They never do.
