Maybe you should check around your area for a chicken swap or breeder meet. I hope this hunt gets easier and better for you.Hmm, I was thinking the price I want to pay was cheap. I was going on the average price I see adult chickens going for and since large fowl Cochins are hard to find, I expected them to cost more.
Yeah, I'd like 3 hens but it looks like I am going to have to go with the babies and hopefully I can still find one hen somewhere. Thing is, I'm not even being choosy over the colors and they are still hard to find.
Where are you located?I got my Blue cochins for $8 a piece and they were just getting ready to lay eggs.
Where are you located?
Do you have bantams? I call my black Cochin, "Blackie" original, I know. LOL When we look for him at night to put him up, I tell my husband to look for the one in pajamas. LOL
What is the RBA?
I was wondering the samething...what is RBA?
lol...no, I have large fowl..RBA is Rare Breed Auction...I love the pj's too...Do you have bantams? I call my black Cochin, "Blackie" original, I know. LOL When we look for him at night to put him up, I tell my husband to look for the one in pajamas. LOL

Personally I think that is REALLY cheap...you got a deal imo....I wouldn't sell my gals/guys for less than $20 each & that would be for young'uns (6 weeks plus maybe)...pullets @ laying age would prob be $40 all day long...I mean you have to think of all the time & money you have into the animals & what you think you should get paid for your labor as well...at least that's how I look at it...birds that are rare colored or rare species would be even higher & adjusted in price accordingly...I got my Blue cochins for $8 a piece and they were just getting ready to lay eggs.
